No Vacancy!

Seriously, I've never had all 4 shelves lit.. No more plants, it's full!

Star Eyes x Self: FAIL

It's pretty official, and I'm calling it: FAIL!

Sure they're cute, but they all look just like Star Eyes, and Star Eyes already exists, so these aren't needed. Oh well, I learned! And there's lots more crosses to come. :-)

Star Eyes x Self BLOOMS

And boooooriiiing, they look just like Star Eyes so far haha!
Better luck on other non-self crosses I've got in the works.
Hey,  at least I'm trying.

Haha lookit my foot down there, ewpz.

Star Eyes x Self Update...

Lookit all those buds coming! They might all end up just looking like Star Eyes but... Who knows? Maybe something cool will happen....

Yeah I know I said I needed to separate all the plantlets, but I didn't get around to it!

Some Nerds at MAAVS!

There were MANY members of African Violet Nerds at MAAVS, but it proved pretty much impossible to get a FULL group shot of all of us, because it's hard to get everyone all together at once! So this was the best we got:

Left to right: Barbara Jones, Linda Kilby, Vicki Carr, Kitty Hedgepeth, me, Sue Hoffman, and Libbie & Tom Glembocki

NERDS RULE!!!!!!!!

Why Does This Keep Happening!?

I have GOTTA stop hanging around with that dude from Lyndon Lyon Greenhouses... New African violets seem to follow me home whenever I see him AHHHHHHHHH!!

Top row: Sierra Sunrise, Heart's Aglow, Untamed Heart, Cosmic Blast
Middle row: Cupid's Jewel, Heartbreak Kid, Dark Kiss
Bottom Row: Pip Sqeek, Li'l Periscope, Teeny Bopper, Little Blue Bandit, Little Darlin'

Yeah 3 more standards in that lot, just what I needed. For those keeping count, this brings me up to EIGHT standards now! The truly sick part? I had 3 more on my wishlist that are currently out of stock and I'm waiting on 'em. Please call the loony bin and reserve a bed for me ASAP! Oh, and make sure the room has a window with good light for the plants.

3 Blues and a Best in Class WHOOHOO

Just dashed into the show room to see if my plants did ok and YAAAY! I got 3 blues, and one was even a Best in Class!

MINE! Left to right: Lil' Georgie, Star Eyes, and Wood Nymph

And here's a pic of the whole class, just so you know I wasn't only competing against myself haha

Big winnah!! Star Eyes

Blurry azz pic but I'm too excited to waste time taking another one right yet!

MAAVS Sales Room 2013

Just a quick video of all the awesome vendors here in the sales room!

Grooming for MAAVS!

Greetings from New Bern, North Carolina! I'm doing the final grooming on my 3 measly entries for MAAVS! Yay...

Sad News...

This morning I got very sad news that Janice Bruns passed away last night. She was a top show grower back in the day and contributed a lot to the African violet world at large for many years. Also the beloved wife of Joe Bruns, who is one of my favorite people on this planet.

My heart is hurting so bad for my friend Joe right now. His devotion to Jan has always reminded me of something out of a movie--I swear, he loved her more every minute that passed in their 46 year marriage.

I'd like to collect cards from everyone to send to Joe. He is a treasure in our African violet world building and maintaining FC2, handling the official registrations of new African violet hybrids, webmaster of LyndonLyon.com, plus more.
Please take a moment and let him know you're thinking of him and his loss.
