Show!
Show opened, but I couldn't go in because I'm not registered for the convention. I'm not whining, I'm just sayin'.
Sure I coulda snuck in, but can you imagine being bounced from an AVSA show? Not high up on the street cred list... Or actually, would it be? 😂
I'll just get real pics tomorrow when it's open to the public.
Awards Banquet
What a crowd.
Amy said over 300 people are registered!
Also breaking news: I'm wearing a dress.
But you can't tell in this pic, sorry. 😂

What's Blooming 11.06.15
Well, not a lot considering the massive tear-down a coupla weeks back. But African violet 'Kid Karla' and micro Sinningia 'Star Eyes' were first in line to show off. :)

Do-Over
Luckily, one of the greatest things about African violets is that you can always get a do-over--And thank frig, because I've had MANY do-overs, and I'll certainly need many more!
I'm currently bumming around the house in pain whilst recovering from a recent surgery, so I took this opportunity to FINALLY repot all my plants. (The dates on the pots were mostly from August of 2014--EWPZ!!)

Fall 2015 African Violet Show Season!
To find shows near (or near-ish) you in the USA (and even Canada, eh?) be sure to check out the "Events" page on the AVSA website, OR look for the show postings on the AVSA Facebook page! I try and get them done on the facebook page (with my awesome assistant Peggy Barber) a couple weeks ahead of time, so we can give people time to plan.
Sadly because of my new work schedule and an upcoming surgery, I don't see myself being able to attend any shows this year. But I'll just have to hope I can next year and enjoy it doubly, to make up for this wasted year!
Don't be too freaked out/socially anxious to get yourself out to one if you can--Even if you're a total n00b and aren't entering any plants. Shows are a great place to network and geek out with other African violet growers, buy plants & supplies, learn stuff, and of course be dazzled by the eye-candy of the perfectly grown show displays. Seriously, it's mind-blowing.
